چکیده

Novel A–p–D–p–A V-shaped 3,6-bis(phenylethynyl)carbazole based chromophores were designed and synthesized as two-photon polymerization (TPP) initiators combining a large twophoton absorption cross-section with facilitated radical formation. 9-Benzyl-3,6-bis(4nitrophenylethynyl)carbazole (4d) shows a strong two-photon absorption around 800 nm and exhibits very high two-photon polymerization initiating sensitivity with a threshold power of 0.8 mW at the concentration of 0.18 mol%, which is much lower than the threshold power of 6.37 mW found for benzil. The corresponding threshold of laser exposure intensity for TPP is 3.0 6 10 mJ cm. The lowest loading of 4d is up to 0.012 mol% with a threshold power of 3.2 mW.

Two-photon fluorescence imaging of DNA in living plant turbid tissue with carbazole dicationic salt.

Three carbazole dicationic salts, namely 3,6-bis(1-methyl-4-vinylpyridinium) carbazole diiodide (BMVC), 9-ethyl-3,6-bis(1-methyl-4-vinylpyridinium) carbazole diiodide (9E-BMVC) and 9-ethyl-3,6-bis(1-hydroxyethyl-4-vinylpyridinium)carbazole diiodide (9E-BHVC), were synthesized successfully. Their photophysical properties were evaluated by absorption, one- and two-photon fluorescence spectra, and...

Two-photon absorption cross-sections of common photoinitiators

Recent interests in and applications of two-photon absorption (2PA) induced photopolymerization have afforded advanced opportunities to perform three-dimensionally resolved polymerization, resulting in intricate microfabrication and imaging. Many of the reported 2PA-induced polymerizations make use of commercially available photoinitiators, and a key parameter to consider is the two-photon abso...

Two- and three-photon absorption and excitation phosphorescence of oligofluorene-substituted Ir(ppy)3.

A series of triscyclometalated iridium complexes with oligofluorene-substituted ppy ligands manifest impressive two- and three-photon absorption properties. In particular, a star-shaped complex bearing three carbazole-terminated trifluorenyl ppy demonstrates a large three-photon absorption cross section up to 81 × 10(-78) cm(6) s(2) photon(-2). In combination with optimal phosphorescence quantu...

One- and two-photon induced polymerization of methylmethacrylate using colloidal CdS semiconductor quantum dots.

The development of one- and two-photon induced polymerization using CdS semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) and amine co-initiators to promote radical generation and subsequent polymerization is presented. Two-photon absorption (TPA) cross-section measurements, linear absorption, and transmission electron microscopy are used to characterize the QDs. The effectiveness of the co-initiators in increa...

Gigantic two-photon absorption cross sections and strong two-photon excited fluorescence in pyrene core dendrimers with fluorene/carbazole as dendrons and acetylene as linkages.

We report a series of stiff dendrimers (referred to as T1, T2, T3, and T4) that have both gigantic two-photon absorption (TPA) cross sections up to 25,000 GM and strong two-photon excited fluorescence (TPEF) with fluorescence quantum yield of ∼0.5. The large TPA cross sections and high quantum yields of these dendrimers are directly related to their geometrical structures, where the polycyclic ...
